Betty Reid has extensive experience in catastrophic case management in the State of Florida. In 1974, as the Florida Health Consultant in the Loss Prevention Department for Liberty Mutual, Ms. Reid was transferred to Florida and started an extended career in the insurance industry. Having completed a BS in Nursing at the Medical College of Georgia and while completing a MBA in Management from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College, Ms. Reid started Rehabilitation Advisors Inc, a private case management company, on October 9, 1981. Nurses and counselors were recruited and developed to provide the outstanding case management services that have long been associated with Rehabilitation Advisors. We have been able to attract and retain very good accounts (insurance companies, self-insured companies and third-party administrators), which has assured financial stability. To remain knowledgeable of the services being provided by Rehabilitation Advisors, Ms. Reid has always handled catastrophic cases directly. The positive working atmosphere within Rehabilitation Advisors has resulted in very low turnover and a stable professional staff capable of providing excellent services.

Ms. Reid has been involved in case management organizations as a founding board member of the Florida Chapter of IARP (formerly FARPPS) and of the Florida Chapter of CMSA, along with being the founding President of the Orlando Chapter. Regarding insurance industry organizations, Ms. Reid has been active on various committees with SAWCA and WCI and served as a case management representative on Orange County PIC and on the WC Advisory Committee on Rehabilitation for the State of Florida.

Brent Reid is responsible for the marketing program for Rehabilitation Advisors. As Vice President of Marketing, he oversees service marketing efforts, as well as development of new business, maintenance of accounts, quality assurance and evaluation of new opportunities. Throughout his 20+ year career, Brent has forged many long-term relationships and contacts in the insurance industry.

Brent’s past experience also includes full responsibility for multiple golf clubs, including recruiting and development of personnel and overall daily operations.

Jennifer Dahl has extensive experience providing mental health counseling, vocational rehabilitation, career coaching, and business coaching services. She is a national speaker at conferences, national summits, veteran groups, and she provides live and recorded webinars teaching business skills to mental health practitioners and empowering professionals. She is an expert in vocational rehabilitation, including employment services. She is a contractor for Department of Veteran Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation employment services and a sub-contractor for Wounded Warrior Independent Program. She is an expert witness for family court. Her down to earth and non-judgmental style provides a safe space for individuals to explore themselves and focus on their goals. Ms. Dahl has assisted well over 2000 professionals transform their career. Whether the person wants to change careers, go from the military to civilian life, get promoted, or increase their salary, Ms. Dahl is there to assist them along the way. Focusing on overcoming barriers, transferability of skills, working through fears, and empowering the individual is a formula for success.

Jennifer Dahl is a member of Florida Mental Health Counselor Association, which is the largest state counseling association in the United States where she presents at their annual conference along with providing live webinars. She is a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation where she was trained to provide CISD services. Ms. Dahl is a former member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association. In 2019, Ms. Dahl obtained her certificate in telehealth from the Telehealth Certification Institute.

Mrs. Frederick received her Bachelor of Science, Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University in 1981 and her Master of Science, from Nova Southeastern University in 1991. She has considerable experience working with pediatric and adult populations in a variety of settings, including public schools, in-home, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities in the State of Florida. Mrs. Frederick demonstrates clear written and oral communication skills when working with health care professionals, patients, and caregivers. She displays proficiency in assessment of patients with a wide range of conditions with a clear focus for patients to develop, recover or maintain active engagement in meaningful life activities. She strides to keep her knowledge up to date through continuing education classes and readings. Mrs. Frederick serves as a diabetic, hearing, and vision screener through the Lions Club.

Kathy Gould has extensive experience in case management throughout Central Florida. She has extensive experience in catastrophic, specifically spinal cord injury, and large loss cases throughout the insurance industry. She implements and directs case management through a relational and team approach with each case. Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work along with a Certification from Erskine College, a private liberal arts college, from the State of South Carolina. Throughout her career, she has held many certifications and has countless hours of continuing education to enhance her effectiveness as a case manager and as a business consultant.

As a Business Consultant, Kathy fosters excellence with every nurse, case manager, or other professional team member related to each case entrusted to Rehabilitation Advisors, with the goal of obtaining optimal outcomes for all.

Jordan Markel has extensive case management experience with demonstrated competencies in the assessment, planning, and coordination of case management activities. He has over twenty years clinical nursing experience at a level 1 trauma center and over eight years of experience in catastrophic case management. He has a specialized expertise in catastrophic injuries. Further experiences include work with a broad range of complex and catastrophically injured employees. He has a proven track record with workers compensation patients, employers, providers, and claims adjusters to coordinate and assure proper delivery and oversight of medical and disability services. He has extensive experience in the evaluation and coordination of medical and rehabilitative services. He demonstrates a broad awareness as an advocate promoting the injured employees’ best interests and addressing treatment alternatives to care.

Mr. Markel remains active in the rehabilitation community as an active member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. He was a founding member of the West Coast Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.

Heather Peeples has extensive experience in all aspects of counseling and case management, with particular expertise in rehabilitation and career counseling. She began her career as a support counselor with an executive outplacement consulting firm and moved into the public sector with development disabilities treatment planning and counseling under the public mental health system of Maryland. After receiving her Master’s in clinical psychology and a Graduate Certificate in addictions counseling from Loyola University in Maryland, she began providing traditional mental health counseling, as well as addictions counseling and prevention services, with a group practice in Pennsylvania. She also provided counseling support to the local public school systems in south central PA during that period. In 2000, Ms. Peeples and a partner co-founded and ran a mid-sized nonprofit corporation that provided job placement assistance, counseling, and other support services to clients transitioning off of welfare in Baltimore, MD. In early 2004, Ms. Peeples began providing rehabilitation counseling, transition services, and career counseling to active duty service members and veterans through both the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD). She taught transition classes on all of the bases in the National Capitol Region to all ranks of service members from all branches of the military during this time. She has provided a wide variety of services to the VA since then, continuing to do so under Rehabilitation Advisors since relocating to Florida in 2007. Services currently include complete initial assessments, vocational testing and counseling, educational counseling, case management, vocational exploration, complete career counseling services (including resume development, interviewing, and job search techniques), community referrals and education, and a new complete assessment service that is open to active duty service members, veterans, and their spouses/dependents.

In addition to working as a contract counselor for the VA since early 2004, Ms. Peeples also provides counseling services under contract with the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), LifeTeam (PGAP counseling), and various worker’s compensation carriers.

Daniel Perez has extensive experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation setting and catastrophic case management experience in the State of Massachusetts and the State of Florida. In 1996, Mr. Perez received a associates degree in applied science from LaGuardia Community College in New York and moved to Massachusetts where he gained rehabilitation experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting and adult day care setting. In 2001, Mr. Perez moved to Miami, Florida, where he continued working in the rehabilitation setting at HealthSouth and Baptist Health South Florida inpatient rehabilitation facilities. Mr. Perez received his nursing degree in 2007 in a sponsorship program with Baptist Hospital and Miami Dade College. Mr. Perez nursing experience continued in Orlando, Florida, where he completed his intensive care unit training at Florida Hospital and eventually transitioned to the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center, a trauma one hospital. He worked as a beside nursing for several years and as a rehabilitation admission liaison for Orlando Health Rehabilitation Institute.

Mr. Perez physical therapy and nursing experience has prepared him to provide outstanding catastrophic case management services to injured workers and their support system and to facilitate medical care and treatment with employers and insurance carriers to enhance function and an improved quality of life.

Larry Rechlin has extensive experience in adult and pediatric rehabilitation. He has served on a variety of committees within the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy and has been an educational presenter at national conferences.

Rosanne B. Rechlin has had rehabilitation experiences in a variety of settings. As a returning Peace Corp Volunteer, Ms Rechlin worked on an acute care spinal cord injury unit at a large Veterans Administration Hospital. She was then transferred to manage a medical neurology unit at the same hospital.

Ms. Rechlin moved to the Midwest and served as a staff nurse on the rehabilitation unit at a regional hospital. This general rehabilitation unit served individuals with diverse diagnoses. While working as a staff nurse, Ms. Rechlin obtained her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing. She became a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nursing and became a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

The Rechlins relocated to Southwest Florida in 1992 and Ms. Rechlin joined the team at Rehabilitation Advisors. She has worked as case manager serving a variety of impacted individuals and payors. Ms. Rechlin was named one of the 2009 Nurses of Excellence by the 2009 Nursing Excellence Committee of Collier County Florida. In addition to a solid knowledge base, Ms. Rechlin believes a key to effective management is establishing relationships through active listening.

Lois earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, Florida. She earned her professional certification from the Commission on Certified Disability Management Specialists as a Certified Disability Management Specialist(CDMS).

Ms. Silberstein has been an accepted Vocational Expert by the Social Security Administration and testified in Social Security disability adjudication hearings for close to five years. She is an approved Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the US Department of Labor, Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Division. She also provides absence management services, vocational counseling, vocational case management, vocational evaluations, re-employment assessments, labor market surveys, transferable skills analysis, employability skills training and job placement. In addition to vocational services, Ms. Silberstein provides medical case management and disability management, including catastrophic medical management.

Ms. Silberstein has provided vocational, medical and disability management services in Northwest Florida for over 30 years, eight of which were spent as a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Florida Bureau of Rehabilitation and Re-Employment. She has also been a designated Qualified Rehabilitation Provider for the state of Florida.

Cheri Summers began her career as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in Denver, Colorado before moving to Florida in 1986. Since then, she has successfully worked with adults and youth to provide career and educational guidance and counseling, crisis management, personal and family counseling, and job placement assistance. While working for a small, private rehabilitation company, Ms. Summers created and managed a CARF accredited Work Hardening program for fifteen years. This involved working closely with a treatment team that was composed of a Physiologist, Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Rehabilitation Nurse and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. During that time, she also completed training for and prepared Life Care Plans and Medicare Set-Asides. She has worked with varied populations to include individuals transitioning out of the military to a civilian occupation; those considering a change of career, or who have been laid off due to downsizing; and those who must change careers because of physical or psychological injuries or disabilities, which prevent return to previous employment or difficulty becoming hired. Transfer skills analyses are performed utilizing various educational testing methodologies, personal interviews, review of records, and labor market surveys.

Ms. Summers has worked closely with the Veterans Administration, State of Florida, and Federal Workers Compensation (to include Longshore), educational institutions (community and four-year colleges), private insurance companies, legal and medical professionals, and employers to ensure viable and realistic educational and occupational objectives are established. Jeanine has over 25 years of nursing and has direct claims experience in over 25 state jurisdictions. She is considered a thought leader in the management of traumatic and catastrophic claims. Her diverse experience includes hospital emergency room case management, utilization review, managed care, workers’ compensation, and catastrophic case management. Jeanine offers a wealth of knowledge and various perspectives having served different stakeholders within the workers’ compensation system. She has a solid nursing foundation and a passion for creating a better experience for her clients, Jeanine empowers others through continued volunteer involvement as a board member in the All-Florida Case Management Society of America (CMSA). Jeanine speaks nationally on case management and claims topics and is a published contributor in the CMSA Today and Care Management Journals.
